NDDC MD, DR. OGBUKU URGES NEWLY PROMOTED DIRECTORS TO ADD VALUE TO THE COMMISSION

Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Dr. Samuel Ogbuku has enjoined newly promoted Directors to add value to the commission.

Dr. Ogbuku who gave the advice during the closing ceremony of two weeks training programme Cum induction  by Administrative Staff College of Nigeria ASCON, for the directors in Abuja, asked them to mentor their subordinates. 

He lamented that lack of proper mentorship which is sometimes caused by selfishness, politics and corruption, has been a big setback in the civil service.

While emphasizing the importance of training, Dr. Ogbuku insisted that management was committed to training staff to equip them with necessary exposure and skills needed for the development of Niger Delta Region. 

The Chief Executive Officer while condemning tribalism and nepotism, told the directors to be good ambassadors of both NDDC and ASCON. 

The NDDC boss noted that excellence and professionalism were indicators of a successful career. 

 In her address, the Director General, Administrative Staff College of Nigeria ASCON, Mrs. Cecilia Gayya expressed confidence that the content of the course has prepared the Directors for excellent performance in their various activities. 

The Director General of ASCON the training institute, commended the conduct of participants and their enthusiasm towards acquiring new knowledge. 

The two weeks training focused on leadership and performance management.

High point of the event was induction of the participants.
