NDDC ELECTRICITY SUB-STATION TO END THIRTEEN YEARS DARKNESS IN ONDO SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT

Acting Governor Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa says ongoing one thirty three kilovolt electricity sub-station in Okitikpa Local government of the State embarked upon by Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, would facilitate economic activities in many communities within the area. 

The Acting Governor, who made this known while playing host to a delegation from NDDC at Government House Akure the state capital, believes that the present administration led by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku has brought freshness to the commission

The courtesy visit was part of the move by present management of Niger Delta Development Commission NDD to bring all stakeholders on board as it strives to make indelible positive marks across the region. 

Speaking in Government House Akure the Acting Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa explained that for about thirteen years, four local government areas within that part of Ondo  state have been in darkness.

Mr. Aiyedatiwa who acknowledged  that the project was over ninety percent completed appreciated the commission for the gesture. 

He however requested that the agency assist in taking up other projects in the state including shoreline protection, land reclamation and erosion control. 

Earlier on, Managing Director  Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku told the host that the courtesy call was part of the consultation of stakeholders in the bid to facilitate the development of Niger Delta region.  

Dr. Ogbuku who gave assurance of speedy completion of the power project added that the commission would execute more projects in the state. 

The MD stated that the scope of NDDC was  open ended as it delves into Education, human capacity building, projects, health and many others. 

He enjoined youths of the state to leverage on project  HOPE that provides a platform for Youths to be captured in a database to take part in training programmes as they unfold.
